Tour: Waldbaum's - Holbrook, New York

We're going from last week's Delaware store tour to this week's Long Island store tour! Welcome to Waldbaum's of Holbrook, New York. This classic location has a little bit of everything in it-- from the Valley Cottage, NY styled facade, to the original A&P checkouts inside... and a special surprise for all of us later in the post. Let's take a look!

Ah, the good 'ol 90's Foodmarket decor. And hey, Waldbaum's has a pretty well-stocked produce department here! Surprising for such a low-volume store.

Original Foodmarket Aisle Markers are mixed in with Farmer Jack ones. Not to mention, but this store had also used some Farmer Jack carts! More information will come in later images.

The 90's Foodmarket was actually very similar to the 80's P's and Q's, the Deli & Bakery were paired up, and it featured either white linoleum tiles, or terra-cotta, as seen here. In the backrooms of the abandoned Clinton store, the tiling was similar to this. Was this store skipped for a floor renovation?

Okay, as much as I love the wood-slat aisle toppers, and practically mention them in every post at some point, this is overkill. Look at how many slats!

Never seen a store this cluttered... of shoppers!

Glorious Farmer Jack aisle markers pair well with the 90's Foodmarket decor. A&P actually had used this decor in the Farmer Jack stores, but they used the more deluxe, neon script version.

Folks, if you look to your left here, you can see a Farmer Jack cart in all it's glory. A&P used a different variation of Technibilt carts for their Michigan division, which were similar to Home Depot carts, minus the fact that theirs were powder-coated orange.

A look across the front-end. This store is actually very similar to the Clinton store! Even the panels above the checkouts are almost identical.

If you're wondering why the checkerboard pattern on the floor is green instead of black, it's because the previous tenant to this store was in fact, A&P. The late 80's decor (hasn't been posted yet) had used green tiles.

Classic A&P checkout lanes to end the post. Thanks to alexweb8 for sharing!
