Tour: Regal Cinemas - Phillipsburg, New Jersey

Believe it or not, this is A&P Preservation's 300th post!

Conveniently located next to my second grocer of choice (Stop & Shop) is a place so filled with neon that it may be radioactive at this point. What am I talking about exactly? Regal Cinemas of Phillipsburg.
The main lobby here has remained unchanged since its first day of being a theater, complete with the neon "concessions" signs that circle around almost the entire lobby.
This same drum-like design can also be seen on the outside of the building.
I'm usually not one to say this, but this place is very aesthetic.
Aesthetic. As you can tell.

Okay, that's enough not-even-remotely-related-to-retail posts for the next month or so now. Check back next Tuesday for more posts!

Comments

  1. I saw Avengers Endgame here a while back, I was surprised at the neon remaining intact too. (I also got in trouble a bit over taking photos, but that's another story.)

  2. What era is this? Some of it's pretty good but the rest looks dated and empty.

Also about the radiation anecdote, interesting! Never thought of neon like that.
